Role Summary

Adevinta, a global leader in digital marketplaces, is on the hunt for a visionary Head of AI to spearhead their AI strategy and execution. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of Adevinta's offerings and operations through advanced AI. The Head of AI will build and lead a high-performing AI team, drive innovation in machine learning, generative AI, and related fields, and ensure that AI initiatives deliver significant business value while aligning with the company's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

- **Define and Execute the Company-Wide AI Vision**: Develop and implement a comprehensive AI strategy and roadmap that aligns with Adevinta's overall business objectives.

- **Build, Mentor, and Lead a High-Performing AI Team**: Recruit, train, and manage a team of Machine Learning Enablers and Data Scientists to ensure they are equipped to deliver high-quality AI solutions.

- **Oversee the End-to-End Lifecycle of AI/ML Projects**: From ideation to production deployment and iteration, ensure that AI projects are managed efficiently and effectively.

- **Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams**: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and other departments to integrate AI solutions and drive impact across Adevinta's products and services.

- **Guide Choices for AI/ML Platforms and Tools**: Select and implement the best AI/ML platforms, tools, and MLOps best practices to support the team's work.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- **Extensive Experience in AI/ML**: Typically 8-10+ years of experience in AI/ML, with at least 3-4 years of proven leadership in building, managing, and developing AI teams.

- **Track Record of Success**: A history of successfully leading teams in delivering impactful AI/ML solutions in both B2B and B2C domains.

- **Deep Understanding of ML Algorithms and Techniques**: Proficiency in machine learning algorithms, deep learning, NLP, and other relevant AI techniques.

- **Knowledge of Python and Common AI/ML Frameworks**: Familiarity with Python and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.

- **Experience with MLOps Principles and Cloud AI Platforms**: Hands-on experience with MLOps principles and cloud AI platforms, preferably AWS and Databricks.

- **Strong Strategic Thinking and Communication Skills**: Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
