The rapid development of AI technologies marks a significant shift, deeply impacting citizens and societies. The Paris AI Action Summit brought together over 100 countries to address the challenges and opportunities of AI, focusing on inclusivity, sustainability, and ethical governance.

Participants from more than 100 countries, including government leaders, international organizations, civil society representatives, the private sector, and the academic and research communities, gathered in Paris on February 10-11, 2025, for the AI Action Summit.

Concrete Actions

- Public Interest AI Platform and Incubator A major platform was launched to support, amplify, and reduce fragmentation between existing public and private initiatives on public interest AI.

This initiative will focus on data, model development, openness and transparency, audit, compute, talent, financing, and collaboration to create a trustworthy AI ecosystem.- AI and Energy For the first time, the summit discussed AI and energy in a multi-stakeholder format.

This led to sharing knowledge to foster investments in sustainable AI systems, promoting international discussions on AI and the environment, and welcoming an observatory on the energy impact of AI with the International Energy Agency.- Impacts on the Job Market A network of observatories was created to better anticipate AI implications for workplaces, training, and education.

The goal is to use AI to foster productivity, skill development, quality, and working conditions, and to enhance social dialogue.

Inclusive Multistakeholder Dialogues

The summit recognized the need for inclusive multistakeholder dialogues and cooperation on AI governance.

A global reflection was outlined, integrating questions of safety, sustainable development, innovation, respect for international laws, human rights law, gender equality, linguistic diversity, and the protection of consumers and intellectual property rights.

Trust and Safety

Harnessing the benefits of AI technologies to support economies and societies depends on advancing trust and safety.

The summit commended the role of the Bletchley Park AI Safety Summit and Seoul Summits, which have been crucial in progressing international cooperation on AI safety.

Efforts will continue to address the risks of AI to information integrity and to promote AI transparency.

Future Milestones

The summit participants look forward to upcoming AI milestones, such as the Kigali Summit, the 3rd Global Forum on the Ethics of AI hosted by Thailand and UNESCO, the 2025 World AI Conference, and the AI for Good Global Summit 2025.
