Jack Hobaugh, a shareholder in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Corporate and Business Department, has joined the Colorado Bar Association (CBA)’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Innovation Task Force. This prestigious appointment highlights Hobaugh’s expertise and commitment to advancing the legal profession through technology and innovation.
In his new role, Hobaugh will help assess the ethical, practical, and technological implications of AI in the legal profession. He will contribute to the Task Force’s efforts to engage subject matter experts, evaluate emerging risks and opportunities, and craft actionable recommendations for the CBA Executive Committee and membership. The goal is to spark meaningful dialogue about the future of law in Colorado and ensure that the legal community is well-equipped to navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by AI.
Beyond AI, Hobaugh will also support the Task Force’s broader mission to expand access to legal services in underserved communities, promote responsible technology use, and guide innovation in legal practice. His work will help modernize business operations, inform policy updates, and empower members to navigate a rapidly evolving legal landscape.
Hobaugh combines his global software, database, and network engineering experience with his legal practice to focus on technology transactions, AI, cybersecurity, and privacy law. A certified AI governance, information systems security, and privacy professional, he uses his extensive in-house counseling experience to provide AI, cybersecurity, and privacy guidance to his clients. His work also includes incident response counseling and negotiating AI, privacy, and security agreements, such as data protection agreements. He also provides technical license review and analysis and is a member of the Brownstein Crisis Management & Strategic Response Team and Ethics and Compliance Team.
