KENT, Ohio – Kent State University is launching a new workshop on artificial intelligence as part of a series of workforce development programs designed to help local professionals strengthen the essential skills needed in today’s workplace.
Held by Ned Parks, entrepreneur, author, and radio talk show host, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence – The Basics, is an introduction to AI designed to better understand the development of computer systems capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. The program will also discuss the history of AI and its uses in the workplace.
The program will cover:
- Key types of AI technologies (i.e., machine learning, natural language processing, and robotics).
- A brief history of AI and how it has evolved over time.
- Common and emerging uses of AI in business, education, health care, and daily life.
- The limitations and concerns, such as bias, job disruption, and ethical dilemmas.
- The benefits of AI for productivity, innovation, and problem-solving.
- Practical strategies for responsible and informed use of AI tools such as ChatGPT and others.
