For our research group “Cognitive Neuropsychiatry” at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Cognitive Neurology at Leipzig University Hospital, we are looking for a PostDoc (f/m/d) for up to 3 years for the project “NeuroTrace: Identification of early onset dementia with Artificial Intelligence”.
A central problem in healthcare is the increasing prevalence of neurodegenerative diseases and dementia. The NeuroTrace project aims to achieve early detection and differential diagnosis of dementia, enabling specific therapy to be provided at an early stage. This project is crucial for advancing personalized medicine and improving patient outcomes.
In the project, artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques, along with new multimodal imaging methods, are used to analyze individual cases. These methods allow the transfer of group results to individual patients, making it possible to develop classifiers that can automatically detect dementia using multimodal imaging such as MRI and PET.
The ideal candidate should have a degree in psychology, biology, neuroscience, computer science, physics, mathematics, or medicine, along with a doctorate. Experience in imaging, statistics, machine learning, and dementia research is highly favorable. Additionally, a track record of publications in scientific journals is beneficial. Clinical work with further training in psychiatry/neurology or psychotherapy is also possible.
Remuneration is based on the regulations of the Max Planck Society. The Max Planck Society is committed to increasing the proportion of people with disabilities in its workforce and welcomes applications from qualified individuals. The society also strives for gender equity and diversity and encourages applications from all backgrounds.
We look forward to receiving your complete online application (reference number
